The November sun was surprisingly warm on the big day, and was only made brighter by the smiles that lit the faces of my friends.

Chase & Izzy met a year before their wedding date, but fell quickly in love through moments at church, deep conversations and a shared vision for their future. From the start, they heard a cacophony of unwanted (though often well-meaning) opinions; they were “too young” to get married, they “weren’t ready” for this level of commitment, they were “rushing” the biggest decision of their lives…

… But deep down, Chase & Izzy knew those opinions were not true to their story. They understood that their love was real, their next steps were planned. And most importantly of all; Why would they, having already chosen each other, delay spending the rest of their lives with the person they love most?

And so, they set the date. And gave me a call.

Capturing this wedding day

was a joy.

The Bride's father, Corey, survived a terminal cancer diagnosis a few years ago. To see him experience a "first look" with his oldest daughter, then to witness him giving her away at the altar... it was deeply moving.

The getting ready moments were precious, especially because of the support and direct involvement of their families at the wedding. Multiple generations were represented, and their love was on full display.

Chase truly married the most beautiful bride.

These bridal portraits have become my favorites of all time. The contrast of her golden skin, the white of the dress fabric and the stark red of the room... a masterpiece.

The groom's photos were fun as well, he decided to have his groomsmen wear Nike Dunks with their suits. A fun, bold choice that ended up fitting the vibe of the day perfectly.

The florals and colors of this wedding were rich greens and reds, which are very prominent throughout the gallery. This was a welcomed departure from the common modern wedding philosophy of "white, beige and maybe an accent color". This wedding was bold, exciting and fun.

The time drew closer and closer, until finally it was time for the biggest moment of the day...

The ceremony felt pure, intimate and sacred.

By far the best moment was the groom's reaction to seeing the bride for the first time. There was not a dry eye in that place.

The officiant emphasized repeatedly that marriage is a choice, and one you must make every day. To me, I can think of no greater decision than to choose to stand beside the one you love until the end of your time on this earth. What a blessing these two have shared and will continue to!

As is typical of me, my favorite part of photographing a wedding is taking photos of the bride and groom.

I love sneaking off and stealing them away to get the photos they’ll never remember taking but will always cherish the most! Chase, the groom, boasts a fancy, tricked-out Cherry Red Ford Mustang, and it made for both a great getaway car and a perfect backdrop for an epic kiss photo. These photos are some of the most effortlessly romantic and classically timeless pictures I have yet to take, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Working with Chase and Izzy, along with their families was a pleasure. I am thankful to have been part of such an awesome day.  Cheers to true love, and not caring as much about outside opinions. In the spirit of Ford itself, go further… until the end.
